Working for Nationwide Building Society on one of their prestigious 'flagship' London branches..This project involved close liaison with the building owner/landlord to ensure Nationwide's requirements were carried out swiftly and efficiently.
We worked with a large NBS led team - architect, structural engineer, M&E consultants and direct sub-contractors. In such a busy situation on Tottenham Court Road we were hampered with restricted access and delivery timings, no parking and had to operate under full permit control from the local authority for external works, hoardings, decorations etc.
Our works entailed major structural works to the existing basement to support NBS proposed ATMs, counters and till safes. External shopfronts were completely removed and replaced with new aluminium glazed screens. All existing stallrisers, pilasters and concrete fascias were made good and redecorated. NBS logo signage was added.
Internally - the basement contains NBS back of house offices, canteen and toilet facilities alongside additional meeting and conference rooms.
Ground floor - new counters, ATMs, meeting room pods and a range of high quality bespoke furniture installed to form the new NBS B2C facing branch corporate image.
Surrounding finishes - feature wallpapering, new floors (vinyl, Amtico, carpets, and wood plank) and new 1200 x 1200mm feature, sound insulated ceiling tiles. Sound masking and feature sound insulated panels added to meeting rooms. Fog bandit installed and special 'SAS' security doors.
Various other NBS specific installations undertaken - WEMS building management system, high quality alarm and CCTV installs.
The project was completed on time, with minimal additional client requirements. This branch received high praise from all NBS directors as the best branch they had seen.
